Why it pays to be energy efficient

If you are reading this, it’s likely you are among the 50% of foodservice operators who are planning to purchase energy saving equipment over the next 12 to 24 months. In a post earlier this summer, Mark Feygin stated on behalf of Forbes New York Business Council that when equipment is 10 years old or more it contributes significantly to a restaurant's energy use.

“Outlets investing in commercial Energy Star appliances can expect to witness energy savings of up to 30%. Benefits include not just lower energy costs, but also streamlined operations, marketing opportunities for an earth-loving customer base and overall improved profitability.”

More, cheaper, faster

Shankar Bhandalkar, Senior Research Analyst, Foods & Beverages at Allied Market Research, goes further; “The Adoption of automated equipment helps outlets to reduce operational costs, manage food preparation in larger quantities and deliver meals in less time.”

Allied Market Research recently named the biggest Foodservice equipment suppliers in the world, and reported that an increase in demand for readymade food & healthy menus is accelerating the need for more efficient solutions.

“Automated food service solutions are replacing traditional cooking equipment in commercial kitchens. Factors such favorable government regulations for energy-efficient equipment are further anticipated to spur demand.”
