Established in 1945, ICEL started as a small family business company. In 1977, ICEL began exporting, and nowadays, more than 80% of its production is spread in more than 70 countries, across 5 continents. This success is due to constant investing in a strategic and sustainable growth, straightly linked to the capacity of evaluation and responding efficiently to different market requirements, by developing a culture of innovation in products, processes and materials, supported by great flexibility on production, due to strong modernization and introduction of high technology.
Since 1998, ICEL has had a Quality Management System, and in 2003 was the first cutlery company worldwide certified environmentally.
ICEL offers a wide range of knives (Hotel & Restaurant Supplies, Butcher and Slaughter Houses, and Household (retail) markets) made in Portugal with today's "state of art" technology and the most modern processes that exist for cutlery.
The stainless steel used in blades is AISI 420, with an alloy with Chromium, Molybdenum and Vanadium, that in combination with the Thermal Treatment made (to reach an hardness between 56-58HRC), provides the right hardness, long-lasting cutting power and avoid corrosion over time.
All knife handles are ergonomically designed to provide the best comfort and high grip when used, and are in compliance with food contact safety.
ICEL products have a lifetime guarantee against any manufacturing defects and materials.
