High Density Cartridge Heaters
The high density cartridge heater we manufacture delivers a very high power in relation to its size and gives a uniform heat spread over the entire casing of the heater. Our cartridge heater is tube-shaped heating element widely used in many industries, such as packaging machines, extruders, medical equipment, food processing and other applications like heating dies, platens, molds, and other metal parts by insertion into drilled holes. Cartridge heater uses Ni80Cr20 alloy as resistance wire, high purity MgO as insulation, and heat-resistant alloy material as sheath. It provides concentrated heat in a limited space, small size but heat up quickly and precisely. A temperature sensor could be built-in to realize real-time temperature feedback and control. Our high density cartridge heaters also be used in liquid immersion applications and are made for high temperature applications with temperatures that range between 1400° F or 760° C up to 1600° F or 870° C. Most high temperature cartridge heaters are swagged to maximize heat transfer and vibration resistance. Cartridge heaters can be equipped with a threaded plug, (metric or BSPP), a flange, a mounting bracket or shoulder. Waterproof resin seals guarantee electrical insulation in case of prolonged storage or use in a wet atmosphere (max. temperature at connection: 160°C). Our Cartridge Heaters use a unique, patented split-sheath design that allow the heater to expand when energized to maximize heat transfer through greater contact with the wall of the bore. Better heat transfer means less power is consumed to maintain the set point temperature, reducing operating costs.
