GASTRONOMY PLUS LTD LAUNCHES LATEST INKA CHARCOAL OVENS AT GULFHOST
GASTRONOMY PLUS LTD LAUNCHES LATEST INKA CHARCOAL OVENS AT GULFHOST Gastronomy Plus Ltd, which recently acquired the Inka charcoal ovens brand, will be using Gulf Host (stand Z3-E11) to launch the latest additions to the Inka range, the P300 and P600. The acquisition of Inka, which comes a little over a year after Gastronomy Plus bought the Bertha charcoal oven brand, further strengthens the company’s position in the growing market for charcoal ovens. ‘Cooking over charcoal continues to grow thanks to the theatre it creates and the fact that it can be used to cook everything from steaks to vegetables, chicken to fish,’ says Gastronomy Plus managing director, Alex Shannon. ‘Not surprisingly, given the recent increase in the price of gas and electricity, it has become even more popular of late as chefs and restaurants seek more cost-effective ways of cooking. As well as bringing fantastic flavours to whatever it cooks, the Inka oven is the ideal way to finish food that has been cooked sous vide, and therefore sits perfectly alongside our range of vacuum packing machines, water baths, thermal circulators, and blast chillers.’ ‘Like the other products in our range the Inka oven is a very specialised piece of equipment and so we are delighted to have secured the services of Jason ‘Bruno’ Birkbeck as Inka’s demonstration chef,’ says Shannon. ‘Bruno, whose CV includes The Torridon Hotel in Scotland, Hipping Hall in Kirkby Lonsdale, and Northcote Manor in Blackburn will be running a series of demonstration events over the coming months and will be on hand to advise chefs on how to get the very best from the Inka oven.’ For further details call 01524 770060 or visit www.berthaoven.com.
